It would appear that the above mentioned company are opening a new Glasgow store on or around the 28th of this month. It's a few doors up from the old branch and right next door to Ducati Glasgow.

Thanks, nice to know, used the old shop regularly.

Was at the old shop last week and a bit surprised to see a new one opening in May just a couple of doors down, especially as their old shop which is now J & S were still selling a few HG branded products, but its good to see them going again.

Just as well I kept my HG loyalty card, wonder if they will honour the points , lol

Got a text back from Andy who is currently in Spain. He says it's nowt to do with him this new shop.

Who says you never chuck anything out Stuart :D

Anybody familiar with Firecrest?

http://www.firecrestmoto.co.uk/

Just there are a lack of shops (in Scotland) to go and see and try on a number of alternative makes (alternative to BMW that is) since the closure of HG in Edinburgh.

Yes, they've been in business for about a couple of years. I haven't been in there for a while but last time they had quite a good stock of Spidi and some other good quality gear. Run by a young couple whose names I can't remember. He's an (ex) racer, she was enthusiastic and helpful on the couple of times I was in there. They've got a big, clean, modern unit just off the M8. It's probably worth a look since Forth Gear closed down.

Bought a couple of jackets from them last year. They were very helpfull and there was some good advice on offer. they had a number of brands on display but were happy to get other stuff in. And they were selling at mail order prices. Which was refreshing to see.

Don't know about Firecrest but the new Hein Gericke shop has a splendid chap as manager. He's jolly handsome too.

Hey folks.
The Glasgow Hein Gericke shop opens this Saturday 25th.
Special offer for the opening weekend is 20% off one single item. Pretty useful if you need something reasonably expensive. Doesn't apply to Sat Navs/electronic items or obviously, sale stuff.
Not bad though.
The till and computer systems are still in German so expect some head scratching and general stressed out staff members. Should be fun though.
Oh, before anyone asks, they can't accept vouchers from the old company or any product returns from before as it's a totally new, separate company.
Did I mention the manager is a thoroughly splendid chap?

Er, give that man a coconut !

I'll pass on the coconut but is there an on-line HG catalogue these days so that we can see the range? Having a Master V suit and a TFL Cool leather jacket already along with a pair of Router II leather pants, I'd be interested to know if the TFL Cool leather range is still going to be offered and if we can expect a new range of textile kit that uses Gore-Tex Pro Shell and Armacor.
