Any one got experience (good or bad) of the Heine Gericke Cruise jacket.
Worth £280 or not?
Cheers, Rob.:beerjug:

Thumbs up from me

Yeah, agree with Thunder on this one. Never leaked to date, warm in winter and hopefully the ventilation will be reasonable on warmer days. The removeable collar works well on cold days, stops all the drafts. Has two waterproof pockets aswell.

Great jacket. Vents work well until it gets really hot, then I switch to a Air jacket. Matching trousers are good as well and can be vented for summer using leg zips from hip to knee.

top peice of kit warm in winter cool in summer and always dry in my view well worth the money

Had the jacket and trousers for ages, and ridden through two winters with them.Warm,Comfy and waterproof.

Also recommend the Hein Gericke Pathan Gloves...the warmest are the" vulcan 2 finger" mitts, but they also do normal style gloves for those that are too old and decrepit to use the mitts.

I concur !

I use the cruise jacket & trousers daily (summer & winter) and it it top kit. I was fortunate to have mine bought for me by my employer. Prior to owning it I would have been reluctant to pay the relatively high cost but now I've used it I would definately part with my hard earned for replacements. Highly recommended. :thumb2

I agree, used all year roud. Top kit and worth the hard earned wonga.

Got mine today

Managed to get this kit today, it seems excellently made though not tested it yet. Gone for the Grey jacket, can't wait to get out in it.

Been out and about in mine today, defo waterproof..................:clap :thumb :beerjug: top kit.

I replaced my rather too large Belstaff Challenger Jacket with a Cruise Jacket so tend to compare it with the Belstaff. In the main I like the Cruise better but the zip pullers are cheap and crap. The Belstaff one were far better. The Belstaff arm vents were better designed with two way zips. I replaced all the Cruise zip pullers tonight and that has made it a far easier jacket to live with. I wore it around town yesterday and it was very comfortable and did not get sweaty so hopefully that was thanks to the goretex liner. I was going to get a cheaper Hein Gerricke jacket but am very pleased that I decided to pay the extra and get the Cruise Jacket.

You mean one of these don't you......

Slightly old thread but wanted add a short review

I rode from the Black Forest (Freibug) back home to London on Moday in the rain pretty much the whole way (including what seemd like a hurricane when I crawled out of the tunnel in Folkston) wearing my Cruise jacket & trousers.....stayed dry and in relative comfort the whole trip.....The vents were not effective at 30C+, but in milder and colder weather it perfomed nearly flawlessly.

I tried one on the other day.

I liked it very much, all except for the stupid poppers that hold the lining in the sleeves.

Took me ages to do up/undo,as the elasticated cuffs make the poppers very difficult to reach.I reckon they would last a few weeks, tops,if you were constantly taking the lining in and out (as we did on our trip a few weeks back).

Think I'll stick to Dainese, and probably go for the new Goretex Neck, when I replace my current jacket.

I went one further and got the master jacket - £330 but still worth it. Less fussy styling than the cruise, better cuffs and less straps and things. It also has this fancy temperature sensitive lining stuff which actually works.
Used it in all weathers and it never leaks, even after 9 hrs in continuous rain
Hein gericke stuff seems more suited to tall thin people - most other makes seem to have too short sleeves for my chest size.

Jacket

I have had a cruise jacket and trousers since last Nov. Previously to this set i had the Voyager set which was replaced under warranty last Nov.

To be honest i don't rate the cruise jacket compared to my Voyager jacket. It is nowhere near as warm or comfy. My Cruise jacket has just been sent away for a zip replacement and the loan jacket is a Voyager. If i could keep it i would, immediately more comfortable and warmer.

Before next winter i shall be getting myself a master iv jacket and sell my Cruise on.

Stu
