Hi all

I've got 2 Hella Micro DE HID fog lights. I've been trawling the forums and can not find a bracket to mount the lights on my 2006 GS 1200 Adv . Plenty of GS1200 mounts but no Adv ones.

Suggestions Please

Do you mean a bracket for the light's or the HiD ballast's ?

Do you have the top engine bars for the ADV, think you can buy the spot light bar as an extra.

Hi

I've just got the crash bars as standard no top bar. If I get the extra bar that BMW sell to mount the spots will that work.

Pete

If you have the standard ADV crash bars, then the bar that hold's the BM spots is part of the spot light kit, but they will sell the bar on it's own, just fastens to the top section crash bars.
Then you can mount of the bar, but you will need a ballast mount point for the HiD's.

And I can help you with that :thumb2

:D

Hi Les

Sent you the payment and a PM. I've already got 50 watt HID dip and main beam. When I switch on the 2 x 35 wat HIDs fog lights I should be able to part the Red Sea :D

Had a small piece of steel welded onto the BMW light bar ... you could weld the same sort of thing onto the standard aventure crash bar.

See pic below. The lower lights are the BMW fogs, the lights above them are Hella Premium DE Xenon driving lights ... and they needed a small horizontal mounting platform welded on.

Hi all

I've fitted the ballast mounting stanless steel bracket supplied by Les, but would like some advice/piccies of the ballasts fitted to the mount. I do not think i have the ballest mounts that wher supplid with the kit. Also the ballasts are 50 watts and quite large.

I need to mount 2 in the short term and a further 2 when I get the fog lights fitted.

Any help much appreciated.

Pete I have moved to preferring Heavy Duty Dual Lock industrial velcro for fixing the ballasts. Its neater and easier. My 6 ballasts at the moment are fixed with Dual Lock, including 4 hanging off the underside of a mounting plate. See foto here:

I have just thrashed the bike over some of the roughest ugliest trails in the Pyrenees and the ballasts are not moving. I only used a tiny amout of Dual Lock and they are well and truly stuck fast.

You can buy the stuff online here: http://www.demon-tweeks.co.uk/products/ProductDetail.asp?cls=MCYCLE&pcode=AEH355D

Or if you have trouble getting some there, I will be able to help you out.
