greetings all, ive been a lurker for quite a while now, so i just registered today,
ive a 2002 1150 gs , not a twin spark with a problem,
it started , when it was left outside in the rain for a few days,
initial problem seemed to be water in the tank , due to a blocked tank vent, which ive now cleared, removed the tank ,drained the fuel and dried the tank, and fitted a new fuel filter,.
the problem is , when the bike is at a constant rev , you get a popping noise from the exhaust,on the road it constantly surges , struggles to reach 60 mph , and generally has no power,. on take off .you have to slip the clutch, or it cuts out,.
so far i have,.,. drained the tank fitted new fuel filter, checked the valve clearance, cleaned the throttle bodies, cleaned the plugs, reset the tps, checked the injector spray pattern, swapped over plug leads, balanced the throttle bodies,,. and its still the same,.
the only problem that i can see is the fuel pressure on the pump is 6.2 bar, and the throttle bodies were very oily on the airbox side, and a slight less quality spark on the left cylinder,.
forgot to mention that i checked the compression on both cylinders , and it was 140 psi,.
at this stage i dont know what else to check,.
can anybody please help,.
