Helmet Holders - how many?

Just picked up my new (April 2006 build) 12GS. Looking through the manual it says there are two helmet holders either side of the battery under the riders seat. Went to use them at the weekend but mine only has one, on the left hand side. Is this unique to my bike or are the 2006 owners being short changed on the helmet holder front?

Mine (11/2005) has 2 . Much better 1150/1100 holder, i would have payed even 10 euro more for the old one!

Helmet Guardian gives the option of having two easy to operate helmet locks. HTH.

IIRC you need to take the front seat off, put the helmet strap onto the "hook", and then put the seat back on.

My 2006 only has one on the left. Maybe it will hold 2 helmets???

Mine only has one as well. I asked my dealer, having read the manual yet finding only one holder.

He checked the other three new 1200GS's in the showroom. They were all the same with one hook.

As Dahoum says, it's an economising measure, just like the toolkit.

It's BMW Customer Care to ensure that only one of you finds a dog turd in the helmet when you return to the bike!

Wunderlich do a 1150GS style helmet holder that bolts onto the frame rails of a 1200GS with a set of security bolts if you really need the facility ...

I'm away from my desk at the moment, but can forward the part number if anyone wants it ...

About 15-20quid if I remember rightly!
