I dont always ride with any luggage on, and today searched high and low for a helmet lock on my new bike....nothing!! anyone know if i have one? (2014 LC 1200 GS)

There isn't one on the 2013 model, so I doubt that you will have one either

You don't want to be leaving a helmet attached to a 'helmet lock' anyway.

Unless you want the helmet to be found full of chip papers,McDonalds cartons or dog piss.

To say nothing of the 'lock' being defeatable in about twenty milliseconds and the helmet getting nicked.

Then cue another 'Oh woe is me.....my barely secured xxxxhundred pound helmet has been stolen' thread.
Like the numpty who left his on a garden wall while he went inside his house and was staggered and tearful when he found it had been taken.

I never found the single helment lock very useful, it's bit feeble so I never trusted it - it always felt more secure to take a lightweight bicycle lock and feed it thought the chin bar - this method is far more flexible and very useful when two up so one can lock both helmets together on the bike.

Put helmet over sat nav, cable lock though chinbar and headstock so you can't lift the helmet off, then cover with a bin liner. Sorted.

I would be wary about using any sort of lock that uses the 'D' ring strap as security, the scumbags will either cut the strap or snip the rivet with some electrical side cutters prior to using them to remove the circlip holding on your clock assembly.

Spot on.........My preferred method too

I must only frequent places with nice law abiding people as for the last 15 years our helmets have used one of these:

for short term eg lunch stop helmet security.

Basically what I use. I like mine low though.
