I normally wear a Shoie XR1000 but, due to being arse-ended recently:ymca , I'm in need of another lid.

I was just going to replace it with another Shoie or one of the new 'Shoie Style' Aria lids and, before doing so, just wondered what BMW lids are like on a daily basis - apart from the carbon lid of course. £850 is a bit over the top really!

Anyone care to comment?

I had BMW system 4 and system 5. I bought them because they are flip front.

in comfort terms, the lining in an Arai is the best for my head. Shame arai don't do a flip front. So I am now using a multitec. Not quite my head shape but very comfortable. The BMW system 5 gave me a headache after half an hour if I wasn't going really fast.

Stick with Japanese much better than this German stuff :hide

Pretty much what Novice said. Had a System 5 which i bought coz i wanted a flip and found after a couple of hours it didn't fit.
I've got a tour-x which fits me great and i tend to use this when I'm off-road or trundling round on the moors at lowish speeds.
Just got a Multitec for longer distance work which for me is a great improvement on the BM lid. Much lighter and fits so much better.
Try em all, we've all got different shaped heads :thumb

Totally agree with Pigglet, Tour-x for slower speeds is great, but other than that Multitec every time. It's a quality lid, my first Shoei in fact, certainly not my last, and the visor change method is a lesson in design. Highly recommended :thumb2

Also forgot to mention that with the multitec you get a clear visor, pinlock visor insert & a spare tinted visor. I got mine from custom lids for £252 which is their internet price.
