Very subjective, but for hi price pople seem to go for the Shoei or Shuberth, cheapies for the Caberg. All good helmets, loads of links the threads on here

Fit is the key mind, my obvious advice try it on B4 purchasing.

Me, I've got an Arai, I find the flip ups more noisy than a full face and so choose not to wear one

I can recommend the BMW system 6 helmet, Its light, quiet, has a great flip down sun visor, good vents. Really rather good.

I use the Shark Evoline. I found that when touring in different climatic countries to be a good compromise, between an open face and full on helmet, although with any compromises there are downsides.

See Here

Mine's a Shoei Multitec. It is noisy, even with the full "whisper kit" fitted, so earplugs are necessary on any motorway trip.

I was also surprised by the SHARP test result, where it says: "Percentage of impacts where the chinguard remained fully locked: 83%"

So, it'll come undone in about 20% of impacts? If I'd known that beforehand, I'd probably have bought something else...

The System Five scores 100% fully locked!

I still have my System 5, and It is still a very good flip lid. Excellent build quality and very quiet, with good ventilation.:thumb2 The only minuses are its very heavy and it doesn’t have the inner sun visor thingy, which all the latest flip lids seem to have now. :nenau
The System 6 addresses all these points. :clap

Just purchased a Schuberth C3 after 3/4 years with Arai helmets. Really happy with it. Well thought out design and the sun visor works well. Very quiet after Arai helmets...

I'd avoid the Caberg Trip. Just replaced it with a Shoei XR1000. The Trip was noisy, didn't feel particularly solid and the visor flips open if you do a life-saver at motorway speeds! The built-in sun visor is good though.

I bought a shoei multitec and didn't like it. I got a system 5 a few months later. The multitec was too noisy and I got too much buffeting, altho it was a comfortable fit. Also, my passenger got a lot more buffeting. Happy with the sys 5.
