After 6 years - my trusty, if somewhat really knackered BMW system 3 or 4 helmet is truly shagged.

Before I go out and be really boring and get the latest BMW replacement, anyone got any bright ideas?

Does anyone have any feedback on Schbert helmets???

(I need a flip top because I find normal lids really uncomfortable to get on and off)

Well I've only just got it but I've just bought myself a Schuberth C2 - very impressed with it so far!

I'd heard a lot (of positive) about them and the System 5 also - the Schuberth just seemed to fit me better and have a more quality feel to it. One thing I would say, the Schuberths all seem to measure up one size small. Usually take a large, had to get extra large with the C2.

It seems to be a very quiet helmet, which I like, plus I really like the little drop-down tinted sun shade. Go try one and see what you think

So far, so good.;)

Got the Caberg Justissimo - great bit of kit for the price :thumb2

I have a C2. The fit on the head is great, it's as though they moulded my skull and made the lid to fit. That's the good news.

On the down side, there's little room in the chin area for me and in dirty air (behind a GS screen) it's not that quiet - take the screen away and in a pure air flow it's really quiet. It also relys on a clear air flow to keep the visor clear and for decent venting. I actually find that it's better with the visor open an inch or so than shut.

Having said that I still like it as a lid and if the C3 (when they get round to it) has a bit more chin room, I'd buy another.

Have also got a Caberg Justissimo - had it for 18 months now and continue to be surprised at how well it performs given its low price - flip, sun-shade, anti-fog, comfortable and doesn't leak in the rain. Can ride flip-up with sunshade down at 50 comfortably. Only negative is that it's pretty noisy, but I wear earplugs all the time anyway. I did like the C2 when I tried it on, bet it's quiet, but twice the price....

I found a noticeable difference in fit between the Bm system 4 and 5. I had a system 4 which was goosed, couldn't find another so got a 5. I've recently sold it as after a few hours it was apparent it didn't fit right :blast
The system 5 and C2 are variations on the same theme, try them both as they they are different shapes I found the C2 was no where near fitting but the S5 was better. I've now got a Shoei multitech which fits me personally better than both.

have a look at the agv longway circa £99 acu gold sticker available in silver or black

I loved my System 4 but when it came to time to replace it the System 5 didn't fit comfortably. I didn't like the Caberg or the Shoei Synchrotech so ended up with a C2. It was very good, though a bit heavy and the internal sun visor was brilliant. Only downside was that the visor leaked when it rained, so it went back to the shop and I now wear a Shoei XR-1000. I still miss the flip-up so will look at a Shoei Multitech next (or a C3 if it's around then).
