Helmolock

My thirty year old BMW F650 Funduro has a short plastic coated steel wire with an eye at the end fitted beneath the seat. There is a matching hook. Open seat, feed wire through chin bar of helmet, hook onto hook, close seat. Helmet locked to bike. This is actually pretty good.

And I recall just about every Japanese motorbike in the 1970s had a crappy helmet lock on the frame next to the rear shock.

So I think the word “innovation” is pushing it a bit.

It’s not a bad idea in principle, at least it’s handy and easy to use

Not sure I’d want it on my handlebars but I guess you could mount one on the frame or carrier or whatever

Wonder how strong it is, I’ve got an Abus retractable cable lock which does the same job but it’s more deterrent than high security

A solution for a problem that doesn't exist. Bet it's expensive as well.

It exists when lazy bikermates, leave their expensive (and essential) helmets, dangling from their mirrors, whilst they wander off to chill with likeminds over scran and brew.
