Help 1200gs or 1200gs adventure

Again thanks for the feedback think i will defo need to test ride both back to back. I love the look of the adventure more than the 1200 and when i sit on both i just feel more at home on the adv more than i do with the 1200gs. As i am 6 ft 1 the height of the adv is not a prob i am just worried that if i get the adventure i may be missing out on the better handling and speed of the 1200gs.

You'll buy a GSA by the sound of it!!! Nothing on the GSA test ride will put you off.

I've had 3 x 1200GS's (and a 1150GS). I now have a GSA, and I would never consider going back to a GS. The GSA is just better a at everything.:bow:clap

I've got a bog standard GS with a Givi Airflo and winglets. So IMHO it has better wind protection than a GSA.

The GSA does "look the part" but it's extra bulk on the London commute would to me be a disadvantage.

That just leaves the extra fuel capacity. Fully loaded on a London commute see above. And as for touring, 2 hours in the saddle for me is long enough without a fuel stop.

If I really was off adventure riding in the wilds of Africa (which I don't have any trips planned) then maybe the GSA would be the one for me.

Here's a Chelsea Tractor analogy:

GS = Suzuki Jumney
GSA = Landrover Discovery

Done the london commute on both, the GSA and GS are level pegging. I don't see GS's shimmying through where I can't get the GSA. In fact, regularly pass GS's...........filtering is all in the mind :)

My vote goes to ADV, who drives in once - always will drive ADV. I f you are in position to test both bikes, I would recommend so as well.

When I bought my ADV, first day I was scared about it size and filtering through busy traffic, but after 2 days I realized that's best bike I ever drove, even in a city.

GSA

Had a 54 plate GS that I did 12000 miles in 2 years with before it was written off, including 2 up touring in the Dolomities, it was excellent and great fun, if a little short at the top end. Replaced with a fully tricked up 08 GSA, what a difference, the esa really does work, it is super smooth does 320 to a tankful, tops out ( on a private road) at 125 mph and is ace fun on my commute to work 12 miles of twisty bumpy back roads, espically at night when the extra spots make night seem like day, its superb 2 up, after recently riding and owning both GSA is the way to go, the size just goes on the move, it really can be slung around , its fast enough and comfy (6ft 1 and 17 stone) would want anything else and yes you can filter on it
