Despite about 2hrs searching, I cannot find a thread I saw only about a week ago. It had a detailed explination of how to solder into the wires at the back of the "under seat" socket on a 1200. There were some photos with it.

I have got my Autocom to fit and I want to make a really nice job of it.

If the author with the photos could possibly repost, I'd really appreciate it.

Thanks
Steve

Thanks very much, I'm just plucking up courage to cut into the accesory socket wires as I speak. :hack

Why go via the accessory socket? Where are you placing the autocom. I use the autocom 7 smart, which is placed right at the base of the petrol tank so that the leading edge of the riders seat covers it when the seat is fitted, and then it's a simple case of attaching to the battery terminals. Sounds like you may be making things difficult for yourself?

But surely if I connect it straight to the battery terminals it will be on all the time drawing a small current.
