Has anyone got any more options I can investigate before I throw my Garmin 2610 and Autocom 200 into the bin?
Despite replacing leads and jacks, checking just about every combination of plugs into hole etc etc the best my Garmin/Autocom offers me at the moment is what appears to be completely random intermittent audio.
The instructions from the Garmin start and then cut out before the whole instruction is complete. Equally, the rider to pillion communication sometimes works and sometimes doesn't - often seems to be okay when the engine is turning over and I am stationary but as soon as I engage gear and pull away it all goes dead. (Sometimes) when I slow down it starts working again other times it doesn't. As I've said, I have replaced dodgey looking wires and jacks but to no avail. Is there anything else I can do or should I just admit defeat - loathed to so as love taking son out on the back but understandably missus won't let him go until this is sorted. Can't really afford to replace right now.
Have to say never been totally satisfied with this combo although the Garmin always worked perfectly on the Pan I had previously - autocom was fitted to the bike new back in 05 - it has always been temperamental on the gs.
