help needed the ignition/battery light on my 1150 is staying on.and no charge is going to the battery.any experts out there. I will check the brushes on the alternater.any thing else it could be.thanks john.

If the light is on when the ignition is switched off and the key is removed,it`s an electrical problem related to the rectifier/regulator part of the alternator...not the brushes.
If the light is on with the engine running then check the alternator drive belt (as well as the brushes).

I suspect your alternator belt has snapped - How many miles has your bike done .
