Can anyone help out there. A friend of mine who has a garage and kindly said he would repalce the pads for me has made a bodge of it. He took the calipers of to get the pad pins out which were stuck. He has now put it all back together and then tried to bleed the air out the system. I think what he has done is bleed the main reservoir dry so now its low on fluid and full of air. I think he thought you could top it up from the top but I think when you bleed it it takes it from the main reservoir from under the seat. Am I correct?
Also does it mean he will have to take the tank of and fill the main reservoir as you pump and bleed the system. I also assume you do this with the sevo's off?? Can you bleed it like this?

Help please as I want to go away over the weekend.

Thanks

Got a trailer or a van, or access to one? Your quickest least painful option is to get it to the bmw dealer and get them to check and fix. If you are not sure what you are doing with brakes then leave them alone!! :thumb

He's made right feck of your brakes -

You bleed from the master cylinder to the servo.

then you bleed the caliper from the servo, topping up the servo not the mastercylinder. Bleed with the ignition on and let the elctric servo do the pumping/work - it's easier than normal brakes -

But i'd have yours checked if somebody has worked on them who hasn't a clue about BMW servo systems

(This also needs to be moved to the technical section) ;)
