Help-Engine bars and Remus down pipes

Just bought some Remus de Cat down tubes off Ebay and they will not fit if I keep the SM Motec engine bars on.
Do the BMW bars fit with Remus pipes?
Has anyone bent the bars and got them to fit?
Do any other pipes fit with the SM Motec bars?
Any help please

Hi Nick, and welcome

I have had Remus headers on all my 1200GS’s & current GSA, and I can confirm that BMW bars don’t foul the Lamda sensors like the Motec bars do.

BTW are you 100% sure they are Remus headers

I was told they were but they have no markings.
They seem very good quality how would I know?

There are no markings on the Remus, but they should look exactly like these:

No balance pipe or clamps, and with a bracket which attaches under the gearbox.

if you do a search for keihan headers i am pretty sure these fit with sm motech bars although i think they are also very close to the pipes.
the old style sm motech engine bars, pre 06 i think, will fit with remus headers, but be aware the clearance is very minimal. you can identify these as they have a flat strap plate which goes under the bash plate.

I need/want a set, and dont have engine bars to worry about!!

Yonkyo-they are identical but the sensors are higher up just above the second bend.

It`s would cost more to change the bars than the pipes.

I have the Remus headers on my 2006 GS with standard bumwee engine bars. I recently bought some SW engine bars from someone on here and I certainly hope they are gonna fit.

Sadly Boxerboy the same as mine so the Motec bars will not fit. Remus has move the sensors as in Yonko`s photo but Nippy Normans web site still states that they will not fit with the Motec bars!!!!

lambda sensors are in the wrong place for your crash bars....

you will have to go for the gsa down pipes

did the same and found out the expensive way
