Hi Guys,

Just got back from checking the bike over and I think the front shock has gone bang.

Symtoms are that when I lift the bike onto the centre stand the front wheel drops to the floor with a "bump, no damping.

When taken off the centre stand the front drops to 1 to 2 inchs into the fork slider.

Am I right ? Can someone offer any advice, just ridden it around the car park out side and front very heavy?

Thanks, Nick

Thought so

Yep, that's what I thought.

Thanks, off to the Garage tomorrow then

Cheers, Nick

That'll teach you not to play silly buggers up on the tank tracks ;) :D

(oops...better keep an eye on mine:( )

:)

Nice Van Man

So a nice SOS man collected the bike this morning and he confirmed the front suspension rod is Snapped on at least it ain't working.

The beak was 2 inchs from the front mudguard as it went away in the van.

So, over to Park Lane for repairs!

Didn't think shocks where that poor quality

Nick

and how big and heavy are you - and judge, - just for the record ?

I'll bet you're ' larger than average' ??

Am i right , huh ,huh ??

a standard shock is built down to a price and will cope with 'most ' things.

If its gone bang internally, its due to a large downforce on the damper valves overstretching the design criteria for a reasonably long period.

start saving for something with a yellow, white or purple spring.

or go on a diet !! :)

Thanks for that

Me and Judge are Larger than average, but I am better looking

:P

With regards to the shock, I personally know when it went bang when I look back over the riding I have done in the last 2 weeks, but wouldn't want admit to it until repaired. But let's stay, it didn't do what was written on the tin!;)
