I have an Autocom Kit 300 Pro-Rider - Pro Duo. The VOX control knob is set as far anti-clockwise as it will go but my pillion and I are still getting helmet noise coming through the speakers.

The headset (including the BGNS) were installed by Autocom - the BGNS is in the same position as that in the photo on page 8 of the instruction manual. It sits about 5mm proud of the inner shell and cheekpad.

What do I do now to eliminate the helmet noise my pillion and I are hearing? The manual says that the BGNS sensitivity can be adjusted using two internal adjusters. Should this be my next step (I can't think of any others).

Our helmets are both Shoei XR1000s.

Rich - anybody - any ideas? :thumb

if you're hearing noise in the speakers it means the vox has activated and isnt anything to do with the BGNS. I had this problem with my tour-x and got the open face mic kit £2, it basically shrouds the mic to help stop picking wind noise up and activating the vox, its probably only 1 of your helmets causing the vox to activate.
Also is the mic the right way round, beige side towards your lips ??

I originally thought that the BGNS was just to adjust the speaker volume automatically, but according to the manual, "The BGNS is designed to pick up helmet noise and use this information to automatically adjust both the volume and VOX controls of your Super Pro AVI independently of the main headset microphones".

The open face mic kit is something I hadn't thought of - thanks for the link.

What have you got plugged into the Super Pro as sometimes this can cause problems? Mainly wrong parts being plugged into the AUX4 socket

Just a thought ....

Only the riders helmet connection supports BGNS.

The rider should use the longer of the 2 helmet leads.

I inadvertantly used the short lead for the riders helmet and this prevented the BGNS working.

Anything over 50mph and the background noise was awful.

Im sure Rich will sort this out tomorrow for you, he's the guru :beerjug:

He did indeed :beerjug:. I phoned Rich and after talking through my problem, he thought that perhaps the wind was passing over or around me and hitting the pillion's helmet in such a way that the VOX was triggering. In the hope of preventing this, Rich very kindly sent me an open face helmet kit.

My wife and I went out for a short ride today for the first time since fitting the kit to my wife's helmet - the result was no VOX false triggers :clap. It wasn't windy today so I don't feel as though I can be sure the problem has been fixed for sure - it's looking promising though. Thanks once again to Rich :thumb:thumb:thumb.

Jobs a goodun mate, good to see things have been sorted. As for being fairly still extra wind should not really cause you anymore problems with the open face conversion kit fitted.
