Should be somewhere else
Just found this on the garage floor. The bike is a 2002 R1150 GSA. I've had a look over the bike but can't find anywhere it may have come from and both the bike and bolt have moved about so that's not helping either.

Hopefully the picture has attached

Any ideas cos I'm stumped :nenau

Thanks

Check the centrestand and the catalytic converter - they're both countersunk bolts IIRC...

EDIT - Cat bolt is M8x50 countersunk...

not likely to be the centre stand

I think thats just a threaded rod, looks like the cat bolt though if memory serves me right.

Not the cat bolt, by the look of it...

Centre/side stand and cat were my initial thoughts but everything I can see just now is where it should be and they are all countersunk none have the shaped washer. In fact the only shaped washer I can think of is the handguards but they are there and larger in size.

Think ill need to move the trailer and clean the ramp tomorrow and have a good nosey. The domed end on the thread has confused me too.

To be honest, my first thought was that it looked like the kind of fastener you find holding IKEA and other flat-pack furniture together...

Got a better pic of the shaped washer?

I have no idea, but the fact it's dirty in the middle makes me wonder if it comes from the underneath or front of the bike. What size is it , M8 ?

Aren`t the bolts that hold on the rear grab rail that go into the rear mudguard like this? Having said that I don`t see how it could fall out as it would have to defy gravity!

Two bathrooms and a kitchen are currently last packed in the garage so you may be correct.

The washer is countersunk to accept the bolt head, the bolt is around M5 or M6 size.

Have a look on this site. Full parts list, only one that looks like it is the gear selector bolt, M10 x50. Item 7 in description and pic.http://www.ascycles.com/Illustrated_catalog2/MicroList.aspx?id=51761&catID=23&catname=Manual_gearbox&bindName=EXTERNAL_GEAR_SHIFTPARTS_SHIFT_LEVER&bindCat=23_0868

But guess you would notice gear lever loose :D

Thanks for that but the bolt doesn't seem to be listed.

It's a hex drive head not a torx.
