This gorgeous speedo has spent the best part of the last 30 years in my possession wrapped in a box in the loft. Which is a shame as I love the aesthetic of these pure analog speedos. But I don't know what bike it originally was on... I got it with a Tribsa project that was beyond saving unfortunately. I kept this, and the T140 engine, and sold the running gear on, BSA A10.
I've tried looking up which model this combination of 0 - 120mph, SC5301/06, 1440 might have originally been fitted to, but so far have only found photocopies of documents that are pages long of lists. I know the British motorcycle industry was not a world leader in clarity, uniformity and consistency for record keeping or model consistency, so thought I'd ask here. Can anyone put a make or model range this may have come from?
Also I don't know why but the speedo needle itself had snapped off when I got it. (The bike was a basket case, it was all there and had been running - I saw it at a local meet once, but had been badly looked after and possibly a minor crash). I opened the speedo case up but the broken part had long gone...
Anyways all thoughts are welcome...
Thanks, Matt.
