Help ! Jump start cables

So I bought a jump start socket from NN. Then realised it was a proprietary connector so today the jump lead and plug arrived and they are different?

This plug and socket wouldn't mate with the aid of a bottle of Lambrusco and a Barry White box set. What's going on ?

Actually, the above is misleading. I had the right kit just was too careful connecting it so thought it didn't fit. NN emailed and all is good in the world.

The GS/A battery terminals are easy to clip onto. My last bike needed a long screwdriver (taped up to avoid sparks !!!) to reach the positive terminal.
Earth went to any bare metal on the bike. At least that was easy find - unlike the GS with everything painted.
