A friend of mine has a k1200 gt and is getting this fault on the brakes
17438: Pressure in rear wheel circuit to high
We have blead all the brakes and the abs unit as per the manual and it works a few times but then the pressure stays up and the abs fails is there a fix for this or do you need to replace the unit

Cheers

could be expensive?

I had the same in the front system of a Lt and tried everything and in the end had to fit new abs servo motor. My friend at a BmW shop suggested bleeding brakes, checkmg calipers ect but in the end he said new unit. I stripped the servo motor to see and could find no wear or damage. The suspect was one of the tiny electronic pressure sensors that I could not source anywhere. Which was giving a false reading so shutting down the system.

Update
well we stripped the abs off the bike completely stripped it down cleaned all the components (the filters looked a bit dirty)... Put it all back together refitted and ran through the brake bleeding procedures plugged in the GS-911 cleared all the fault codes and then tested the abs no fault was found. Took the bike out for a good long ride no problems so finger crossed it is fixed.

Cheers
Eddie
