Just fitted my new Optimate 3 battery connections. Did the two twists of the throttle thing. Engine starts and ticks over. However open the throttle and the engine cuts out? Help please bike needed for tomorrow.

Clutching at straws a bit, but switch ignition on and let it do the "check" and allow another half a minute before trying to start.
Then let it tick-over for a minute or 2, before using the throttle.

No science. Mine took a bit of a turn at altitude and seemed to need time to work out "where it was"....

Good luck!

Thanks Chris. I think the panic is over. I had the bike on the centre stand with the side stand in the down postion also. So I flipped the side stand up did the 2 twists and she is now up and running.
I will see if all is well tomorrow as I have a run up North to do.

Cheers

Ahh yes, it's because the engine will cut out if the rear wheel turns with the sidestand down. Normally only happens when the bike is cold, due to cold gear oil having more drag.

Silly boy Ed,

we've all done something silly I presume at some stage of our biking carees but probably not quite as publicly.
