Have just fitted a set of FF50's with advice from the guru Les Wassell himself.

I tapped into the side light bulb wire (blue/white) as the relay power switch supply, with a handle bar switch in line(simple on/off switch), main power from the battery via a Centech fuse box, earthed to the battery and then relay feed to the lights but have developed a problem which has me stumped:-

when I switch the ignition on etc the lights work perfectly until I switch them off at the handlebar switch then they refuse to come on again unless I switch the ignition off and on. At first I thought it could be a duff relay so I changed it to no effect then I tried several different switches but all with the same result - lights come when ignition switched on but as soon as I throw the handlebar switch they go out and refuse to come on again (until ignition switched on & off).

Was wondering if the Canbus system was rejecting them and if so how do I get around it??

Anyone one else had anything similar any help would be much appreciated!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Totally exacerbated :confused::confused::confused::confused::confused:

Appears that the relay wiring to the switch is not correct:blast

and that after switching off and then on again the relay is no been energised.

Check your wiring again, assuming your using a 4 terminal 30amp relay it should be this

Terminal 30, fused feed direct from battery
Terminal 86, switched live
Terminal 87, new lights
Terminal 85, ground

mu 2p's worth

ps, this might help

problem sorted thanks to Ravenbyrne - not the relay connections a rouge wire was shorting the system causing it to shut down. Lights now working fine.

PM sent Ravenbyrne.
