My MRA Vario screen arrived today. Having already fitted tobinators to my bike I presumed that it would be just a straight swap with the original gsa screen.

I have managed to fit it for now but have had to dremmel a little of the inside face of the outer plastic pieces (the ones that go against the outside edge of the screen) in order that they fit flush.

Has anone fitted an MRA Vario to their GS Adventure and what else did you need to fit it. Should I not be fitting it with the Tobinators

Thanks Biker

I have one fitted to my Adventure, you need to replace the side mounting blocks with those from a standard 1150.

Forgive me if im being a bit thick here, what you are saying is that in order to fit my MRA screen correctly to my GS Adventure I cant fit it with my tobinators??

At the moment I have managed to fit it but I feel that the screen is being stressed more than it should be at the mounting points in that the mounting points are a little too wide.

When I bought the tobinators I also bought the adapters as I believe the GSA screen is wider??

Im assuming that the MRA screen is not as wide as my GSA screen so thats why the MRA screen is being stressed a little.

Can someone please tell me if I can fit my MRA screen with my tobinators and if so just what parts exactly do I need bearing in mind I already have the tobinator kit.

Sorry to be a pain but I dont want my lovely new MRA screen cracking cos Ive fitted it incorrectly

Cheers

I think you need to buy Tobinators to suit a std GS NOT the ADV http://www.nippynormans.com/products.asp?dept=354

I have Tobinators and an MRA screen on my 1150 ADV with no problems

Ive sussed it out............all I need are the outer screen clamps left and right hand, and the inner screen clamps left and right hand that come as standard with the smaller gs screen and remove the 2 large cnc'd shapes that came with my tobinator kit that are needed for the wider gsa screen.

you must be very tall, as i wouldnt have thought you would have needed tobinators as well as the MRA screen, as it adjusts very high
I fitted one to my 1100 last Summer... the only prob i had was the rubber grommets... it took a while to work out which washers went where

If thats the case do I not also need standard 1150gs fittings as well. the holes in the mra screen just dont match up to my tobinator kit or original bmw plastic covers

Thanks

Standard 1150GS black side pods (slimmer) and mounts fitted to your MRA screen

Take it off before you wreck it altogether

its off and now waiting for correct side pods and Ive also ordered the basic gs tobinator kit as I realised that all my bolts will be the wrong size so will sell my GSA tobinator kit on here just as soon as my new stuff arrives.

I wont be using the tobinators to make it any higher its just that they give you even more variation on positioning of the screen.

Thanks everyone for your help
