help please. H+B engine bar bolt+spacer fallen out!!

Help please.

i fitted Hepco / Becker engine bars to 2005 1200GS about 3 months ago.

the higher (top) bolt and spacer on the nearside have fallen out!!

i need to replace both - anybody know where i can buy the correct spacer and bolt (Quickly)...i would like to replace them with the genuine parts.

I bought mine from Motobins. I don't know if they carry spares but you can give them a ring on 01775680580 Enquiries line. Memo to self check top bolt!

I might be able to help. Took off the same bars from the same bike and kept the bits and pieces. I'll have a look and see if I kept the instructions, so I can identify the bits you need.

I've got the same problem but as the bars were fitted by my supplying dealer to a new bike, I've referred the problem back to them. Hope it will be sorted at the same time as the corrosion on the front engine cover......waiting for a replacement which I believe is being redesigned or being re-allocated to a different component manufacturer.

I used threadlock and had no problem with any of the bolts / nuts coming undone. Being paranoid I also used the paint line technique to make sure I'd see if they were ok.

alot! i just bought a complete set spacers / bolts because i couldn't be arsed phoning around to find someone who sold the spacers and bolts singly - £20 for the complete set.....

arrived yesterday from motobins, good service - quick and easy, pack arrived with instructions detailing torque settings also - goos as i had thrown the origonal ones away.

i am only using the spacer / bolt for top nearside - if anyone needs any of the other bolts or spacers feel free to get in touch.

Exactly the same bolt on mine fell out in Spain this year ( Do we have bolt and spacer extridition with Spain?).....or so I thought.

When I received replacements and set to work I found tah teh bolt had in fact snapped just inside the thread.

I will have to remove the bars to drill it out, but don't relish the removal / refitting of the lower bolts that are also engine bolts.

Caps............
