Hi guys, it's me again...
I found on BMW-Germany a lot of Adventure Bikes and all of them are with the so called "Gross Tank" 30L. Anybody has pictures to post in order to see the difference between Standard/Big tanks.
I also suspect that the 30L. tank is standard on the Adv. correct?

Here's a few pics of a big Adv tank. In Belgium it's not standard on the GS Adventure. About 250 EUR as an option.

Compared to about 1000 EUR for a big Touratech aftermarket tank (41 liter).

Whaoo, looks nice, now the "newbee" question, which is Your advice/opinion? Honestly I don't need all that much fuel riding wiht me so, if I'll be "forced" to buy a bike with the Big Tank, it's still as confortable as with the standard ?

ADV Tank

Get the overland package which includes the 30ltr tank, you don't have to fill the tank
but you never know when you might need it ;)
plus it might be a good idea to have the enduro gearbox with the
lower 1st gear.

Factory Fit Options:
Heated grips £175
Black engine and transmission* No Cost
Enduro gearbox (lower first gear)*
(lower 1st gear ratio = 4.465 -: Std = 3.864) £25
Off road tyres ( excludes rear splash guard)* £105
Large fuel tank (30ltr)* £250
Switchable Integral ABS brakes £750
Engine protection bar £195
Double black seat No Cost
Double seat low (black 860mm) NB height of Std R1150GS seat in highest position) No Cost
Overland package comprising of (*) items
NB. Enduro gearbox is optional £300

Yes indeed Gauloises, I was in fact looking for that one but didn't find it.

I've got the big tank and I'd do it again. Only disadvantage for me is that I've got a bit of problem getting the bike on the center stand when the tank is full. 30kg of fuel added to the weight does make a difference for me, as I'm not related to Schwarzenegger. But compared to a full standard tank the difference is only a bit more than 10 kg of course.

Apart from that, it is nice to be able to ride more than 400km without a fuel stop. :thumb

And it looks better too, in my opinion. :D

I think the issue is . . . why would anybody buy the "Adventure" bike without the overland package. Apart from the paint job how is it any different from a standard bike. I can't imagine anybody has bought all the Adventure add-ons but kept the standard tank. It wouldn't make sense. I think BMW treat the overland package as an extra to keep the base cost of the bike down. Basically, a "standard" Adventure is a standard bike with the overland package. Isn't it? That's what the "adventure" bit means.

Who would buy a 2nd-hand Adventure that isn't an adventure?

Ok, ok, understood, ...I'll go for a FULL Adventure...

:shoot:
I've sent out 5 e-mails to 5 BMW-DE dealers for an Adv. but:
1st. Autoresponder (the salesman is in holidays till today)
2nd. Already sold...
3rd. ...no other answers yet....
:shoot:

...unbelievable...

at this time other 7 e-mails have been sent out..., for a total of 12...
...Just received a quotation for a F650 Scarver

@#!?^°§:(
