Got my Zumo today, (quick delivery from Dutchman, thanks), surrounded by 'bits' and trying hard to get to grips with it all. I've registered the unit with Garmin as advised, but had it suggested to me that I update Mapsource, so I gave it a try. Problem, starts to load and then the WINZIP SELF EXTRACTOR box comes up with a message -'invalid command line parameter, restart'. Tried again to no avail, what am I doing wrong? this is uncharted territory for me:o

Any help appreciated, thanks.

John

DO NOT REGISTER YOUR UNIT WITH GARMIN

There is no advantage to registering your unit
For warranty purposes you only need to retain your receipt

Wait until the next version of the mapping is announced and then register your unit and you will get that version for free.

As you have registered Garmin now know when you purchased your unit and the next mapping upgrade will be chargeable.

Bugger!. Too late for me.

The Zumo is brilliant and anyone thinking of a tomtom over this is nuts (price aside).

Yep, tried the MapSource update and 'Yep' you guessed right, it didn't work so manually downloaded it and guess again, that didn't work ether.

Got the message 'MapSource 6116_exe is not a valid Win32 application.

Help anyone? :nenau

Chances are that the download didn't complete successfully. Check the size of the file (Right-Click>Properties>General tab): it should be 45,874,264 bytes. If not, just download it again.

Cheers phil, was hoping I didn't have to download it again, toke sodding ages the first compressed file that didn't work then this one 'manually' downloaded and again no luck but I'm sure your right.

Will now download it again, Cheers phil :thumb
