That's interesting. Couple of questions:
Is that a Grand Prix end can?
Have you tried it with system cases?
If yes to both of the above, would you like to sell it to me rather than storing it in a box?
If not, I'll place an order for the genuine Remus part tomorrow morning.
I really hope this works - it's going to be very annoying to go through all this hassle only to cremate another system pannier

I honestly don't know.....it's got nothing to help identify it really
Definitely Remus, pretty sure it's aluminium from the oxidisation, and the only markings on it other than the logo and the oval Remus plaque are on the outlet end....
"RV1" followed by the e-1 classification, then "2039" which I can only guess is a part number of some sort
Never tried it with system cases, I made it specifically to fit behind Vernatech Worldbeaters.
When I did it, I just got a piece of wire, formed it into the exact shape of the inside of the exit pipe, opened up the wire to find the length which is the Inside diameter of the outlet, then got an approppriate bended pipe from Ebay. (about 14 quid I think)
I did have to hammer it a little with a rubber mallet to get the circular pipe to be oval enough to jam up there, then when I'd got it in as far as I wanted to, I just drilled a hole through and pop-rivetted it in place.
The joint is NOT gas tight, but my aim was to direct the flow out from behind the pannier so I wasn't too bothered......it would have been dead easy to use some 'zorst sealant or JB weld to make it totally gas tight though
Unless the remus part is cheap, a semi-bodge like this is dead easy and dead cheap, plus you can be more flexible with where you end up pointing it
The looks don't matter to me much because I keep the panniers on all the time, hiding the extension (which I don't think looks too gruesome anyway!)
