HELP - spark plug rubber cap

i can not for the life of me get the lh spark plug rubber cap off.
any suggestions. the rh one pulled off easily. is there a special part in the toolkit? if so i cannot find it.

It's a plastic gadget that fits over the end of the plug cap and the end of your finger...

They're only a couple of quid from any BMW dealers. Just ask for a Plug Cap Remover.

I understand that they are meant to standard issue in every toolkit, but there certainly wasn't one in mine when I bought it. Either BMW were trying to save some weight, or the previous owner had lost it. :D
 
Next time, put a coating of high temperature silicone grease on the rubber parts. The same stuff used for brake applications.

I have a "2 Spark" model, so for that it means the inside of the rubber boot that contacts the spark plug and on the outside of the spark plug/ignition coil that contacts the valve cover.

They can be a pain to remove and I find that special tool next to useless. I used a plastic tye wrap the last time.
