Help wanted New Tosser

Hi again, " D day tomorrow"
The swines (Jacksons Jersey) are trying to charge me £57 for locks on the new panniers (BMW) However a friend tells me that they come down with locks already fitted. Help required urgently prior to me picking up the bike Tuesday 12 pm as to where i stand on this item. Can anybody help PLease Steve.

Ps looked through various threads on here Couldnt see any thing that might help

er nope the locks are seperate

i had to pay for the lock seperatly. then they will charge to code then in but you can do this yourself its easy.

Don't Pay for that!! I had all locks sorted for both panniers+ top box for my GSA12 for absolutley free at South London Motorcycles It doesn't take too long and all the lock inserts are at the dealers

1) Do the panniers come down with locks ?

They may fo may not come wiht locks fitted but the locks have to be keyed to match the ignition key of the bike. If you have them thrown in free I guess they are charging you for that (key matching) and fitting them on. Youve done well with free panniers, good luck with doing even better!

I just bought new paniers and top box for a GSA the locks are a seperate part number and are ordered from Germany cost is about £28 each (8 for a GSA) most I could get the dealer to knock off was 10%

Cross between Jersey man and a Scots

Wont tell you the price on the bike !
But what i will say was I love to deal, it was fun..

1) Set of panniers (free)
2) Cylinder protectors (free)
3) Going to try for the locks (because that would really sweeten the PIE)
4) Its a Fuc**** beautiful bike (just need some "free" time)

Somewhere on one of the BMW forums I've seen a pictorial guide to adjusting the locking barrels on the panniers to match your main ignition key. Can't see it here just now, but I'm sure someone will be along with the correct link shortly!

They are being mean!

They have not 'given' you the panniers free - they are inluded in the overall price. To provide a pair of panniers and then charge you for the locks is really a bit much; perhaps they do not want your future custom,
