‘hi guys
Jut gone to jump on my bike in preparation for going to Germany on Wednesday and the bloody thing won’t start. It’s ticking over completely fine, clocks all fine but just won’t start. I rode it all day Thursday with no issues whatsoever and had it into russ at beemer bikes for a pre trip check over because I’ve only just got the bike. All was fine. I’m thinking fuel pump or battery but battery was fine Thursday so odd.
Any help would be much appreciate s before I have to cancel going away

By using jumpleads you have bypassed a battery problem. When you say ticking over I presume you mean turning over. Is there petrol in there? You don’t say what year but it could be the fuel pump controller. There is plenty of information on here about bypassing it. JJH

How can it tickover fine but not start??

Tickover is idleing .. idleing=running

Please clarify :)

Yeah sorry it’s turning over fine and is not lethargic. It’s a 2009 with 38500 miles. It’s got nearly a full tank of fuel but the symptoms are similar to no fuel.

Immobiliser on ? kill switch on ?

does the bike energise when you turn on the ignition??

have you got a GS 911 to refer to ?

Had this on mine just after I got it, did everything to try and start it, including checking spark, took off injectors and they were fine, in the end I just kept cranking it via a jump pack and it eventually started, the only thing I think it could have been was that I used a pressure washer to clean it after the ride back from collecting it, it’s been fine since......sorry not a lot of help, just my experience.

Yeah everything starts up as normal except the engine. I’ve havent got a gs 911 but it was all clear on Thursday when bemer bikes plugged it in. I’ve plugged the battery on to charge and an hour later it’s still charging which I’ve never had before. Even if I don’t ride it for 3 weeks it goes green after 5 to 10 mins. I’ve got no accessories plugged in that would drain it.

The fuel pump controller bypass is a very easy thing to do. There are tons of how tos on here and google. It would eliminate it from the list of checks and if gone a replacement could be gotin time for your trip. JJH

Yeah it won’t jump off the car so I think it must be the fuel pump. I’ve only had the bike 3 weeks so it will need to go back to the supplying dealer because I’m not spending a penny on it. Bugger

You can unplug a fuel injector from the throttle body in a couple of minutes. Unscrew the retaining screw and pull the injector out. Try starting the bike - if there is no fuel spray there’s a pump problem. Put the injector back again. ;)
As others say - connect a bypass wire being sure it’s wired the right way around (Brown = earth).

If engine now runs you’ll need a new pump controller.
