I've recently bought a set of adventure Tobinators for my 1150GS and I'm really struggling to get them set up. I can't get any better wind protection using them than I got from the screen in the standard position :( . Could anyone offer some advice on setting them up and getting them adjusted, I realise that there is no standard position but any help would be appreciated before I give up, sell them and try something else :nenau .

Also, two of the bolts appears to be made of something similar to cheese and I have managed to chew up the allen heads with all of the adjusting that I have been doing. Does anyone know what size the short and long round-head allen bolts are and where I would be able to get replacements?

Hi Guy,

Ping me an email at tobers[at]stopthebuffeting[dot]com and I'll see how I can help. I have spare bolts if you need them.

Cheers

Thanks very much. I had already sent you a message but it must have got lost in transit :). I'll resend it.

Do you want me to post a photo of how i have mine set up , i found it easyer to offer up the pieces than to read the instructions . The last few sentences regarding settings were spot on , they made a lot of difference at high speeds for noise and low speeds with the visor up :thumb

That would be great, cheers. I don't want to have them so far back that they interfere with the the bars on full lock (I do not trust myself to be able to cut the screen either  ), I am more interested in getting them to work in a forward position if possible.

I'll take a photo in the morning :thumb

My screen seems to be further away from the cockpit / dash , which allows you to clean the inside of the screen and silver shroud thing'y and cuts turbulance , on full lock the hand protectors just touch the screen , no cutting is necessary :thumb

Yep - got the email now. Yahoo had marked it as spam (!). Sent a reply. We'll sort you out one way or another.

How tall are you?

Hiya folks,

Looking at options myself and Tobinators top of list at moment.

Just curious how tall you are to use that set up. I'm 6'3" copping a hammering at motorway speeds ;)

Turbinators?

I accept that I'm a sad old git that don't get out much but what are TURBINATORS?, sorry but why dos anyone who desires the protection of a fairing ride a GS in the first place?. I have found that a higher wunderlich
screen is vaery good except that when it falls over (we do not drop it) (not
lately anyway) the first thing to hit the deck is the screen which promptly
cracks down one side after the indicator stalk has broken (the fall). Afyer going through two screens in six months (falling over not dropping it) (Lying bastard), I've found that along with smaller indicators (wiring products) a
T.T. Q.D. windscreen spoiler, works very well, can now ride at quite high
speeds with the visor open. And when it falls over the only breakage is arm
ligerments picking the thing ( or trying to ) up.
dave (longer arms). GS

Good job it wasn't James Burton trying to email you - I bet all his stuff, judging by his avatar and joke line, gets marked as sperm !!
