The police are saying that I over took on a solid white line outside the Nags Head public house on the A483 at Garthmyl
The only photos they give clearly show me down the road at the Garthhmyl Hall entrance. The white lines are worn and even the police officer agreed breaking up.
The Google road views are from July 23 and show the lines on my side of the road are broken.
They must be even worse now, doe anyone live near by to get me a video for now?
This would be a big help?

As far as i'am aware solid lines should ; be solid over a specific length ; if they are broken in any way they are not classified as solid and therfore have no defined start and finish;; mr loophole is the guy you need; good luck .

I'm in Welshpool. Maybe take a look tomorrow. I don't have the kit to take a video whilst riding. Which direction were you going, towards the Hall from Nags Head I am guessing.

Any overtake move by the Nags Head would be ill considered due to the corner and junctions, unless you are going past a stationary vehicle.

Streetview has corrupted pics from Nov 2024 and decent ones from Jul 2024. I can't remember if that section has been resurfaced in the last year.

I agree with this. The definition is solid and unbroken, even a break for cats eyes is suspect

Traffic signs manual

3.3 Road studs3.3.1.  S9‑8‑10 requires double white line systems to be fitted with road studs. Except in thecircumstances detailed in 3.3.2, a single row of white bi‑directional reflecting or light emittingroad studs is placed between the lines at centres between 3 m and 4.5 m. Other than at levelcrossings, where a spacing of 4 m should be used (see Chapter 6), it is recommended that a4.5 m spacing is adopted on all new installations. Provided they are within the above rangeof dimensions, it is not necessary to change existing installations to 4.5 m spacing merely tocomply with this paragraph.

I'am pretty sure double yellows also work this way; there's a defined capped start and a defined capped finish ; any break between the two caps invalidates the parking restrictions; i think cats eyes go between the two sets of lines. :beerjug:
