Ok.....Short001 and myself are travelling to Norway in June. We want to be able to communicate throughout the journey.

The question is..Can anyone let us know what is the best way to do this without going out and fitting Autocomm systems etc. There are walkie/talkie type things out there but what is the best one to buy.? Need obviuosly ear pieces/mike etc if possible?? Really dont know.. :o

Again needs to be good but not too expensive. I realise there are probably loads of threads on here that could answer my question - but i am a lazy tosser and cant be arsed to search

Please can i get a couple of good ideas (leaving myself open for saying that).

Thx Guys/Gals :thumb

Macca, had the same idea last year when I toured down to the stella rally with a pal of mine. We got cheapo, mikes, earspeaker thingys and a Push To talk Button for handle bars, to go with a couple of motorola PMR's I have.
General opinion was that with helmets on, as long as bikes were not moving at more than 15 mph, a decent conversation could be held, at up to 0.5 miles apart. Above that, wind noise meant they were no good at all! (i.e. cr*p!)
If you want to talk as you travel, invest in autocom as I have! If you are on same bike then still, autocom without need for walky talky!
hope that helps!

autocom

We are on seperate bikes, so we need to go down the walky talkie line.
Can anyone give us a link to the best dealer of autocom's.

You've got to go the Autocom route, guys. I tried two lots of cheaper options, but they were absolutely useless above 30mph. Autocom stuff is the biz.

I know you're in Germany so can't comment on where to buy. If you were in the UK I'd say just go to Autocom near Leamington and they'll fit the kit for you.

Cheers,

Neil.

Take a look at the intaride site . If you only want a cheapish bike to bike system they can help you out. I was talking to them yesterday and they could have done a basic system cheaper than i got my autocom, even at 50% discount at the nec.
Even told me how to fit my autocom speakers in my caberg.

abrasion beat me to it - IntaRide have also just launched a new bluetooth comms thingy which comes in at £350 so my guess is that the 'old' system may be sold off a bit cheaper. Also I have one of the 'old' IntaRide comms as well as an 'old' Autocom (active 7) which I could bring to Garmisch or post out to you. You'd need 2 PMR radios and a lead to connect the PMR radio to the Autocom (IntaRide has this as standard) It's a simple fit and I'd be more than happy to help you with it over the weekend if you'd like. I'll have to have a think about cost and also want to reserve the right to keep the IntaRide if the new system is rubbish  but I should know soon enough.
