Help with GPSMAP 60CS

My mate has bought a GPSMAP 60CS from America. It is a small hand held devise. I have lent him my mapsourse maps that it says should work on it, City Navigator and Metro. One is supposed to be unlocked i.e. works on my Street Pilot III without any codes and the other I have the unlock code with it and works on my unit.

When I tried to down load them into his 60CS unit it says maps locked.
Why is this and will he have to pay Garmin a fortune for European maps for his American base map unit ?

Anyone know how to unlock the maps or another way around it ?

you need to use your second unlock code to be able to use the maps on his unit.

I also have a 60 and my bro in law gave me his second unlock code so I could use the 60...

You get two unlocks with the software so if you give him your second code and then you buy another GPS without maps you'll need to buy some more maps.

Logon to Garmin and register is unit for the codes...

MetroGuide Europe should download to his unit and work fine (without any unlock codes)

City Navigator Europe can be unlocked for 2 units. Go to Garmins unlock web page

You will need your customer code (on the small yellow piece of paper) and the serial number of his unit.
