I have sold the GS and have bought a Bongo camper ( i know i know)
Something i had promised the wife and my wee girl and never done so its done now.
Will be getting another 1150 sometime in the future.
Anyhoo. need a little advice please.
Im flying to southampton to get the bongo and have to get her home.
I have 3 options which are

1, Drive 8-9 hours to Cairnryan 2 hours ferry then home
2, Drive 5-6 hours to Liverpool 8-9 hours ferry then home
3 Drive 3-4 hours to Pembrooke and 3 hour ferry to rosslare then 4-5 hour drive to Larne.
Now i know there are very experianced transport people here ( hint hint Aidan) I would appreciate your thoughts please
Thanks
Ron

have you got AA cover? just in case.....:augie

the time it'll take to get to Pembroke will be longer than you think, you might as well do liverpool and sleep on the ferry

all the best

ÁDH MÓR . .

. . good luck with the Bongo, Ron, nice piece o freedom kit. Automatic?

It would all depend on what time your flight gets you into Southampton and what time you will be ready to leave there after conducting your business Ron.

Based on an estimation of the above then start looking at ferry times and distance/time to get there.

Personally I would be looking at sailing from Heysham to Warrenpoint with Seatruck Ferries. They are predominately a freight service, but do take occasional tourist traffic for much less than Liverpool to Belfast or Dublin.

Sailings leave Heysham at around 8pm and 12 midnight, arriving in Warrenpoint at 5am and 9am. Granted, they may not the most luxurious of vessels, but dinner, cabin and breakfast are included in the price. Give them a ring on 028 4175 4400 for a price. :thumb2

Just rang them Aidan and at £155 plus vat its a lot dearer then any of the comercial ones
can go Holyhead Dublin, stenaline, (3.5 hour sail.) for £109 all in,
but its a 315 mile, 5.5 hour drive.
Or Liverpool Dublin P&O ( 8 hour sail) for £134 all in with cabin , thats 240 miles about 4 hours drive
both sailing at 21.30 so plenty of time i would have thought.
Thanks anyway for the reply

Billy Nutt has came in with Birkenhead to belfast ( saves another 100 mile trip from dub!)
Including cabin meal and breakfast all in for £158. MMMMMMMM

Looked at that as well, £204 and a 300 mile drive
Cheers for the reply.
Nutts looking best so far with less drive both sides of the pond

nice one

That surprises me Ron, oops. :o

That being the case I would be going Birkenhead to Belfast with Norfolkline I think.

No worries Aidan, its probably as im a private car and not an account holder.
Tried to get direct quotes from ferries on line to Belfast or Larne from England and all well over what Billy Nutt is quoting. Think this is thw way to go nice take your time drive to liverpool get a meal or two on the way then sleep in a cabin with a belly full of beer and only a 16 mile drive to the house.
Sounds good to me anyway
Thanks for all your help and suggestion lads
But if anyone can beat Billy's quote feel free to contact me :aidan
