Yes it is compatible

If you have an OBD2 port then it willl connect directly

If you have the older 10 pin round port it will still work but you just need an adapter cable

Hi Andy (apologies if I’m teaching you to suck eggs at all)
21.50 minutes into the video the right hand side panel is removed (I know it’s a 1250 but the principle is the same) under there is where the GS- 911 is plugged in, he has the earlier one with the round end so has to use a short converter cable that has the OBD end on it to connect into his BMW.
So if you remove the right hand cover on your BMW you will either find a round connector or the OBD style connector as shown in my original picture.
If it’s the OBD you have then perfect, some of the earlier models of your BMW had the round connector
