Hey BMW - You lost another sale...

And yes I will admit in the last 10 years I got Once overtaken on the road...I could not believe it and my manhood was seriously impaired...:D It was a guy on a Bicycle coming down Mt. Hamilton which is a very tight and twisty road.At the bottom I said please don't tell anyone as I did everything and still could not get by him.He said don't worry I do this all week long and you actually did good staying on my arse...;) I could not believe it this guy on a bicycle on skinny tires with almost no lean angles in spandax shorts...:bow Beat a 110 hp bike with 1/2 hp...:beerjug:

If only you’d have had 170 bhp, it might have been a different story :nenau

Flipfly , I loved the days of Fogarty the underdog beating the japs on their fours...But these days a long gone and today even Ducati caved in building boring fours...Maybe BMW needs to up the ante with a supercharged boxer like in the days of Schorsch Meier on the TT 1939...:thumby:
WSBK today is as boring as MotoGP with Marquez...

Oh Fuck .... now i'm turning into boxerlust and stick :D

This is Ventoux. We did a three ascent challenge from the three villages at the bottom. The descents were mad and we were passing camper vans and cars on the way down. Pretty boring video but FF to about 8.20 and you get a feel for just how fast you can go. (I am red bike black lycra in front of the go-pro bike).

I fast-forwarded to 8:20 and it was STILL boring as fuck.

To be fair, that lead biker was hopeless. Compared to that, even I look vaguely competent.

I clearly spent the time you were perfecting your racing technique perfecting my language and typing skills.

The difference is that I've made a success of language. As I've never heard of you, I don't think you can say the same about your racing skills.

What a majestic put down, I am in awe sir!

Boxerlust.
What are you exiting, please tell us :blast
Perhaps if you did ride in winter like a real biker, and lived in a colder wetter climate like we do you would understand about quality issues.

Exiting. FFS

Most would be perfect flat out on a big Supermoto.

one of my most memorable rides was across France on D Roads on a 690 single, you could wring it’s neck and not exceed a 100

Ardeche gorge, 1998 , ‘touring’ on a Faired Bandit 600 with Oxford soft panniers, one of the guys had a same year Fireblade and he couldn’t shake my bike, totally rung it’s neck and no real danger of a moment with under 80bhp.

Giles

I’ve ridden up Mont Ventoux on a GS) so credit to you for doing it 3 times on a pedal cycle.
When I was there, there were pro cyclists training, and seeing the speeds they did downhill in Lycra was breath taking..... mad as a very mad thing from madsville.....
Crazy overtakes of cars on the wrong side of blind bends...... etc...... glad I didn’t witness it all going wrong, as I dislike having to give first aid/CPR.

Giles, I think you might be a little bit mad to cycle those roads, but I admire your fitness levels to climb Ventoux 3 times!

I still prefer a motor attached to 2 wheels...gave up cycling as I live on the London outskirts, and used to cycle to work in London..... 1 week of too many near misses made me decide to stop riding cycles. Too many bad/mad/homicidal car/van drivers in London.

Ha!

Well ive 'retired' from cycling now and have sold my bike. But it was a great challenge. We started in the dark at about 0500 and finished about 1800.
The descents were amazing - some of them you were freewheeling for about 45 minutes! (and yeah .. crazy overtakes on the cars and camper vans on the steeper parts !!)

This Video shows us a motorcycle that rides at a very moderat pace.
Some people may claim that the rider does not have much riding skills. While that might be true, I find it silly to assume that every rider at any time rides to the limits of his/hers ability.

But the video also displays the bicycle riders total disregard for the rules of behaviour in traffic. He's all over the road, and passing the bike on the inside in a RH turn. I will not say that the MC rider chose the perfect line in that turn, but if he had chosen to do so, there would have been an accident.

I have not ridden a quality racing bicycle, but given the law of physics, it's low weight compared to a MC dictates it's potential to maintain a higher speed in curves. But once the curve is complete, a heavier MC will be able to keep higher speed when the curve is not limiting factor, and the MC superior brakes will be able to keep the speed up closer to the next curve.

All in all, these bicycles that plays with other traffic down hill scares me. A loaded GSA with alucases would knock a bicycle off the road without even noticing it. So when a bicycle drives 'all over the road', its behaviour is highly unpredictable for any other traffic, playing with vehicles that will flip the bicycle over easily.

To me, these bicycle riders are not brave or skilled. They are just good old-fashioned stupid.

Nah .... I'm with the cyclist here!

The biker (I can only guess he's brand new) can barely turn his bike! He looks so tight on it - he needs to go back to a car park and learn how to steer and to relax the handlebars.
At the end of the video, he himself goes up the inside of the cyclist (who's just trying to get on with it) then can't turn his bike and runs so wide he takes himself and the cyclist onto the other carriage way!

He shouldn't be on the road .... :thumb2
