I had an unaccountable pipe & slippers moment :blast

Don't be too hard on yourself. Post some pics of your funky new LEDs. You never know it may completely rock the custom world! :D :beerjug:

looks a tidy bike too start with mate

Welcome to the site, don't be put off by the much older grumpier ones on here they may be in the majority but they will never win. :D

Hey, I'm not that old... Only having a giraffe...:D

I am in the RT Preservation Society though as all you Marlon Brando wannabees with your collars turned up as you do the 10 miler to the Ace Cafe before toking on your e-cigs and sipping lattes... :D...will leave a trail of forgotten fairings in your search for uber cool with no bikes to go on them...

I'm even thinking of starting a U2 like band with an album cover with a trail of fairings as a sculpture on the cover...

To the orig poster... good luck with your project and don't let the fact that there are now more Airhead bobber/cafe racers than BMW ever actually produced put you off...:D:D

Also... how is it that when loads of people try to recreate their O level metal work projects, cutting half of the bike off with their DIY CafeBobbing, they seem to double the worth of the bike...:D:D:D:thumb

By the look of the panniers and some of those fairing blanking grommets, that was possibly an ex police bike... looks well though,,,

Indeed it was Mr Deacon -- Norfolk Constab according to some of the paperwork :thumb

Ha ha did the same too my rt today too.
time for a mega clean up and have a good look at what I have
to do ,1 push rod tube is a bit leaky.
other than that it runs and rides ok for a 50,000 bike

first priority is the frame ( after a bit more stripping)

who has a set of strenghtening plates for sale or the dimensions to get some cut from?:D:D

Thanks in advance......

My Frame is due a trip too the powder coaters for a prime and top coat too .
I am not going for bracing as im not altering the bike that much ,a mild restyle and rebuild .
