Hi,Some of you may remember me from SBW Motorrad.
I used to be the parts manager there.
I was saddened to hear of the closure of SPC.
I hope all turns out well for the staff who worked there
and a new owner will take over soon.
BMW GB were always affriad this would happen to SPC
as 'Ron' has 'previous'.
The moral of this story is support your LOCAL dealer.
It was no secret that you could buy anything cheaper
at SPC, but this always has short term implications.
The only way you can operate a business is to make a profit.
Profits pay your staff, suppliers & premises so you can open
your doors each morning.
So if your local dealer tries their best for you, invest in them.
It's easy to perceive that dealers make huge profits because
of the nice showrooms and stock. It's all paid for, BMW don't own it.
I can assure you if I had money to invest the profit margins to run
a BMW dealer are to skinny to even think about it. SPC, Slocombes,
Hughendon M40, Prophets, L&C, Linds, Prestige and others I've forgotten all agree. Who's next??????

Hello Mike,

I`ve moved this out of the Newbies introduction Forum as it isn`t exactly a 'Hello,I`m new here' type of posting.

That's one of the worse poems I've read...... Either it's all got to rhyme or none of it.

It's not a poem fool !

sing it to the tune of

"We plough the fields and scatter"

Hughenden shut mainly cos they were crap...............ordering, service, trying to buy a new bike. You name it..............

They were also tyring to be a Triumph dealer too.

Hi Mike

Sorry to hear you had left it was a big shock.

you and sbw always gave a 100% service.

Good to see you are online.

hope all is well with your new job.

Goodluck and speak soon.

best wishes

mark.

It's no coincidence how poorly you can operate when you work long hours
for little reward. Hopefully they're a better Triumph dealer.

Who's next I asked?
Looks like Cooper Reading.
Hope he's not your local dealer.
Once there were about 50 UK dealers, Whats happening?

Keerist!!!

It never felt very 'cheaper' when they were emptying your wallet for a service.

SBW? They used to have absolutely impeccable 2nd hand bike preparation. Do they still?
