Hi8 video format to PC

Hi

I have got a ten year old Sony Hi8 video camera,with AV and S video outputs. Is it possible to connect this to a modern PC, to download films, via some sort of AV or S video, to USB2 connecter? I'm assuming I would need to somehow convert the analogue signal, to a digital signal. Is there such a lead, or piece of kit that does the whole thing, or do I have to bite the bullet and buy a new digital video camera?.......A nasty experience for a yorkshireman !!

Most modern video cards have an 's video' input.....even cheapo ones as well.....never used one but i would imagine it's fairly easy to do.

Oh, and TV cards as well..my hauppage one in my old machine does and my Pinnacle card in this one too.....if push came to shove you can record from that and save it to the HD......(I've used mine as a VCR before now but the file sizes can be enormous)
