I managed to get a set of Les's 55w HID 50 off eBay. (I'll be going back to Les to get some fogs when I have some spare cash). I just fitted them and wanted to share my experience and give some of you a laugh at my expense.
I got a bracket off Les, was a doodle to fit as i had removed the headlight unit and screen as I was changing the screen and fitting a sat nav bracket at the same time.
The headlamp was really easy to remove, just the 2 T30's at each side and manoeuvre it forwards after unplugging the instrument plug and the headlight unit power & parking light with is prized out.
I used a 25mm flat wood drill bit, this was easy enough, although I wished I had put the first one it in a vice instead of doing it on my bike lift (wooden top) and scaring myself as the bit stopped and spun around like a top with the drill attached.
So far so good.
Feed through the wires and made the necessary connections. I wish my flipping fingers were not so fat, but managed it without too much trouble.
With the ballasts already mounted on the bracket and fitted, I made a dry run to connect it all up before securing the leads with cable ties to keep the job nice and tidy.
Piece of cake. Not very often i manage to do a job without encountering any sort of disaster (self made usually)
I I turn on the ignition, the low beam flashed, then went off. The high beam was fine.
I scratch my head and check the connections -OK
I remove the unit and check the connections to the bulb - OK
Connect it all up with same result
OK, So if i change over the ballasts I can eliminate that.
did that - Same
So if change the bulbs around, that might work. 1 might have been damaged in transit - same
So then I kick next doors cat, swear alot and make a cuppa.
What if i start the engine?

Why am I so f***** thick?
Anyway, the lights are amazing, can't wait to go and dazzle the shit out of some unsuspecting motorist. Nice one Les.
