I'm wondering if this quesion will win me the "twit of the year" award, but here goes.............

I brought a secondhand 08 GS that came with HID lights, which I know nothing about. My question is - is the headlight bulb the same as normal halogen that is common as muck or are they special bulbs ?

Another question...................my headlight jumps around a bit and is not what I would call solidly mounted. Not a problem it's just a bit weird at night. Is that normal ?

The bulbs are special and have a connected cable on the back which connects up to the ignitor and ballast.

The headlight does tend to move about a bit but you can check the clip which holds the back of the bulb in place to see it that has worked loose. To do this unscrew the black plastic cover on the back of the cluster and you will see the metal clip. The plastic mount this sits in can break - I replaced mine with a washer bent in an appropriate place to hold the clip. Also look to see that the headlamp unit is correctly located into the locating lug underneath and that the two side mounting bolts are tight.
