HID HEADLAMP CONVERSION KIT ?

I have dealt with the seller before but note for a HID kit. Didn't have any problems. I have a HID conversion on mine but i spent the extra and got a CAN compatible kit. That one has the bike in the title but isn't a CAN kit. They react in a very different way when first switched on and in 2 years I have had zero problems with lampf warnings.
As for worth the hassle? Absolutely and they aren't a hassle to fit. Much better light at night and much more noticeable during the day. I typically got ignored or went unseen filtering with the stock light. With the HID kit there is no such problem and many drivers visibly moving to give me a bit of room. I don't think it is a requirement on their part to get out my way but it is very welcome when they do and always met with a thank you wave.

I've read lots of negative criticism of HID lights being too bright and dazzling other motorists, probably because the original reflector in the headlight isn't suitable. Is there a way around this as I've been wanting to fit them to my bike.

Mine is a used Les Wassel kit on dip and main. It really is very good, though I found the inline blocks (ballasts?) a nusiance to fit. but once strapped out of the way its job done.

Only downside is the aux headlights now look very yellow. I may get some LED bulbs and use them simply as marker lights. Their additional dip pattern light is not needed any more.

You get 3 different types of burners. The cheap plastic base ones, typically aren't great and the focus can be wrong. Ceramic and metal like a normal bulb and ones with an R in their name. The R is to be used for a reflective light like the GS has. It cuts down a lot of the glare. It would be something like H7R. Ultimately though a proper light that was made for HID is made differently. It also by law (for a manufacturer) has to have self leveling and wash.

I run a standard kit bought off one of the chaps on here 55w on dip & main three years in & it's still fine & dandy.
best thing I've ever fitted to the bike (ok technically there not much on my bike) lights up a country lane blast like no tomorrow :D
the odd car might flash me but then i'd rather be seen than worry to much about upsetting some myopic driver

Ive had no suggestion that my Les Wassal HIDs cause dazzle on dip beam. The delay to main beam is minimal so no real problem. The dip is so effective the high bean with standard bulb (bad enough with standard bulb on dip) would be completely pointless.

Its just passed the MOT with no problems.

ditto from me. Brilliant literally and Les was excellent during my installation. You get what you oay for and these are the best and worth the extra.

I got mine from Les Wassal from this site.

His website is hid50.com

They are certainly at the top of my list. I just wondered if HID's in general could dazzle other motorists? Nothing worse than an oncoming car with main beam dazzling you, making it impossible to judge its distance, speed or position on the road. I wouldn't want to do that to others, but I definitely want to be seen.

It's the old you get what you pay for, my kits same as the eBay listed are cheaper :blast but I don't really recommend them for a little more you get Ceramic Bulbs, they do not burn lens or dazzle on coming vehicles, best bulbs made :thumb2

And if Graham (email address wilgeg@********) can pm me I keep getting the quote I sent returned from the postmaster.

Cheers

The correct kit, correctly adjusted should not dazzle oncoming traffic on dipped beam.

However, with a twin 55w set up with a fast bright kit on main beam, if any oncoming traffic has their high beam on, you can burn their retinas out.

I have had NO problems during MOTs with my kits.

IIRC I have a 4600k on dip and 6000k on main, as recommended by Les.
