Touratech HID Headlamp and Tobinators - 1150 GSA

Ello ello ello.

I'm new to these parts, having only had my GSA for 2 weeks now after a kind old lady wrote my trusty Honda Varadero off last month!

The GS came pretty much fully specced as I would have liked it, but my first purchase was as set of Tobinators as the airflow seems to be catching me square in the face.

Upon fitting them, and at about "Step 2" in the Tobinator instructions I spotted a problem...but I had to persevere to the bitter end just to make sure it was indeed a problem. Yes I know, but that's just how my mind works!

Anyway, the problem is this: I have a Touratech HID Headlight which came along with the bike which mounts on the left hand side (as you're sitting on the bike). It mounts to the very bit that you have to remove in order to fit the Tobinators!

Has anyone else got/had this combination and experienced and hopefully solved this problem? I guess it's a case of moving the mounting point for the HID...but where to and how?

Any advice welcome!

Hi Rob,

Post a picture if you can as it will help other tossers identify the problem. It sounds to me like you have some spots fitted and may need to consider a light bar which fits under the beak.....

Hmmmmm, well I've just had a look at the picture on the Touratech site and it looks like my HID is mounted elsewhere than they reckon it should go!

Mine is attached to the left side screen mount...hmmm, will need to go down to the carpark at lunchtime and take a proper look

Just spotted the reason it's mounted where it is...

You can see where the "standard" OEM Fog lights are mounted...well, that's where the Touratech HID is supposed to go too. Hmmmmmmmmmm bugger

Throw them feckers away, they are cr@p, go for the TT one or go for a pair of HID's.

How can these (expensive) things give out any light? the lenses are almost obscured by plastic. Go HID and for get the stupid things.

Didn`t throw mine away. They let that much water in that I now use them as fish bowls.
