Just fitted one of Les Wassall's 50w HID set up's and I must say well pleased. I personely only fitted a Low beam kit and Les sorted this out no problems. Les indeed sugested that I have the 5k burner which would be more inkeeping with the other lights as it burns white as apposed to the blue tint of the 6k.
Took about 2hrs in total as I removed the front beak of my 08 GSA as I found it much easier to cable tie the cables etc. I did buy the Bracket Les supplies for the Ballast and I must say it does make things nice and neat. Was a bit fiddley to fix but got their in the end when I worked out the best way is to offer it up at an angle (from the engine).
So for the first time ever I am actually looking forward to the clocks going back.:bounce1:bounce1:bounce1

Also have Les's hid's. You'll see a great difference. Don't forget to keep checking the Wales section for the next evening do.

I've just ordered one of these kits. Any tips on aligning the lights correctly?

This might sound daft but what I did was take a reading of the distance between the bottom of the screen and top of the head light unit before I started and made sure that they were the same on reasembly. I am sure this is proberbly not the correct way of doing things but it seems OK. So unless some one knows different it seems to have worked for me. Cheers:beerjug:

Just returned from some night time riding in the welsh mountains and these HIDs are just soooooo BRIGHT. Its just like riding around in daylight!!! I must admit I got some mixed responces from other road users. Some reacted as if to say turn your lights down but then of course you can't!

Some questions::)

Does this afect the CANBUS system at all?:blast

Does it affect the MOT? (My first next March):eek:

I despair that you have paid so little attention to the font of wisdom which is held within these walls for so long, or that search doesn't work for you.

However...

1. No, the canbus ignores it. No false bulb-failure alarms on mine
2. No, the tester should only be interested in whether it has front and rear lights, not whether they meet C & U regulations. If it worries you, it would take no more than fifteen minutes to put the H7s back in.

Excellent, that was the last question I was worried about...the MOT thing. Right, cash saved, time to PM Les!

Just fitted the acumen set same thing just a different name, got to agree fantastic lights, I did both high and low beam.

I had my dip fitted with a 50W by Les, couldn't believe the difference in light. Would highly recommend this mod. I only had it done to give me better visability to others in the day, I rarely ride at night.:)

I also fitted a LED rear supplied by Techno, another visibility plus and I actually fitted this one myself!:thumb

Wouldn't that be more about their alignment than the brightness? :nenau

Well adjusted HIDS are perfectly acceptable to other road users. Its for this reason that the legislation demands auto-adjustment systems for OEM systems on cars.
