Who's HID kit did you get?

If it's Les', you only need to:
1. disconnect and remove existing bulb
2. drill holes (~1" IIRC) in the covers behind the bulbs
3. Attach the ballasts to your bike
4. Fit the bulb to your bike
5. Connect the old bulb connector to the ballasts and the ballasts to your bulb.

Here's some photo's of mine

If you have a kit where the power is sourced directly from the battery and the old headlight power 'triggers' the HID to come on - the above won't help!

Tell us what you did get and we can tell you what you might be missing...

In fairness, you should only have a ballast box which you plug into the original harness, and the burner which plugs into the cabling out of the ballast - all the plugs/sockets are different so you'd have a job getting it wrong.

You've not ended up with an H4 'BiXenon' kit with a trigger relay have you by any chance..?

well........actually no, i dont think so:confused:
it looks pretty much like the HID50 kit, i will take a few pics and post tonight

That looks very similar. The only external connectors are to the spade connectors near the HID bulb, which go to your old halogen bulb connector - make sure you get the polarity correct.
The other connectors join the bulb and ballast together - you can't get them the wrong way round (unless you try REALLY hard!).
