HID lights

IMO - don't do it. Buy some good aux lights instead. Better spread and no single point of failure.

+1 to that. IMO HIDs are too bright for a vehicle that doesn't have auto levelling. I have HID50 FF50s and Micro DE aux lights which have isolation switches so if I'm getting flashed by other cars I can switch 'em off- not that I've ever been flashed, the DEs have a very sharp cutoff. Phenomenal performance with no aggro.

I borrowed a mates 1150 t'other night which has an HID dip and got flashed loads, and it just shows up how poor main beam is.

BTW, these look interesting:http://www.futurevisionhid.com/products/auxiliary-driving-lights/4th-generation-philips-driving-lights.html

Just make sure they're properly levelled. If your getting flashed just use the pillion dip on the main headlight.

The headlight is so high off the ground that if you're reasonably close behind a car you're bound to glare in their mirrors, regardless of how well adjusted the light is.

If you are 2 seconds behind a vehicle and your dip beam is correctly set up you will see the number plate on the vehicle ahead flashing as the top of your dip beam catches it. You won't dazzle the driver or oncoming vehicles. That is for an 1150 with the projector dip unit.

You will light up the interior of sports cars at junctions etc:D
