HID

Well I fitted it but the ballast packed in so I had to revert to halogen again. :blast

TBH, I only fitted it as I had the bits lying around and thought it would help with the battery. The standard light is pretty good IMO.

I would agree that the original lights are actually quite good but I would like to do something to help ease the battery's work.

I've been thinking about doing this on my project bike. The standard lights are ok - but only ok.

Can the ballast be put in the headlight binnacle or does it need to be cooled?

I had the larger type ballast which wouldn't fit in the binnacle so I mounted it under the mudguard.
I shouldn't think cooling would be much of an issue. :nenau

HID 50

I've got one of Les's HID 50 kits in mine with the ballast inside the binnacle, it's the smaller one and fits fine, the lights are better, but the pattern on dip leaves a little to be desired, but main is good!

cheers,

Who is Les - and how do I find out about his kits?
